The local community is comprised by 2 villages, El Arenal Barrio de Guadalupe, and San Agustin.

El Arenal Barrio de Guadalupe is a small, colorful village comprised of a cheerful and welcoming agricultural community. Here you can find some stores, local produce, traditional family eateries, as well as a small chapel. It is a short and beautiful walk from Planta (about 600 meters from our main house). Here you can purchase snacks (i.e. chips, cookies, sodas), beach equipment (i.e. swimsuits, beach toys, life jackets, snorkel masks), fruits, vegetables, eggs, and cheese.

Bahía de San Agustin is a fishing community that has grown around the beautiful San Agustin Bay. This beach has one of Mexico’s largest coral reefs which comes right up to the shore. Compared to the other nearby beaches, this one is calm and has little to no waves most of the time. In this area, dozens of restaurant palapas mainly serve local seafood. It is a great place for eating, swimming, and snorkeling. Here you can purchase general food and toiletry items with a little more selection than El Arenal.
